License

Your Flatsome Site Builder licence lets you run Flatsome on as many production websites as your plan allows. The software you have downloaded keeps working forever, whether or not you renew.

Sites

  • Your plan covers 1, 5 or 10 production websites: a site on its own domain that is open to the public.
  • Staging, development and local sites don’t count. Each live site includes one staging site, and development and local sites are unlimited. We recognise them by addresses such as staging., dev., localhost, .local and .test.
  • Moving a licence: deactivate it on the old site (Flatsome → License, or in your account at my.flatsome.com), then activate it on the new one. A site that moves to a new domain needs to be activated again.
  • Client sites: you can build and run sites for clients. Each client site uses one site from your plan while it is active.
  • Multisite: each subsite with its own domain counts as one site. Subsites on subdomains or subfolders of a covered domain are included.
  • Hosting platforms: if you offer Flatsome on a platform where your customers build their own sites, each of those sites uses one site from your plan.

What your licence includes

Yours to keep, whether or not you renew

  • Use the versions you have, forever.
  • All features and blocks.
  • Pattern library and demo imports.

While your updates are active (the first 12 months, and after each renewal)

  • Updates (new versions).
  • Support.

Renew at any time to get the latest version and priority support again.

If we introduce online services later, such as hosted or AI features, they will have their own plan and terms. They will never be a condition for features you have already bought.

Ownership

Flatsome is licensed to you, not sold. UX Themes AS owns Flatsome and all rights in it, except the third-party components listed below. This licence gives you the rights described on this page, and we keep all other rights.

WordPress is licensed under the GNU General Public License, so the PHP and JavaScript code in the Flatsome plugin and theme is also available under the GPL v2 or later. Everything else is ours and licensed to you only under this licence: the Flatsome name and logo, our design, CSS, images and icons, the pattern library, starter sites, templates and demo content we deliver, and our services such as updates, licence keys and support.

You may

  • Use Flatsome on the sites your plan covers, including client sites.
  • Use our patterns, templates and demo content in those sites.
  • Change Flatsome’s code for your own and your clients’ sites.

You may not

  • Share, sell or publish your licence key, or give others access to updates, the pattern library or support through your account.
  • Sell or give away access to Flatsome downloads or updates, for example through GPL download sites.
  • Copy, resell or redistribute our pattern library, starter sites, templates, demo content, design or images, alone or as part of another theme, plugin, template kit or pattern library.
  • Use our patterns, templates, demo content or design to build or train a competing product, including AI models.
  • Use the Flatsome name or logo for your own products, services or domains, beyond saying a site is “built with Flatsome”.
  • Get updates, the pattern library or other services without a valid licence, for example by bypassing licence checks.

If you break this licence, we may end your updates, support and licence key. Your rights to the GPL code under the GPL stay the same.

Third-party components

Flatsome includes third-party components under their own licences. Fonts (Mona Sans, DM Sans, Lato, Domine, Dancing Script) use the SIL Open Font License. Icon sets and JavaScript libraries keep their own open source licences. Payment and social logos are trademarks of their owners and may only be used to refer to those services. Photos in demo content come from Pexels and are used under the Pexels licence.

Flatsome Classic

Flatsome Classic is a separate product sold on ThemeForest under the Envato licence. This licence doesn’t change your Classic licence in any way.
